HERALDS CAMPAIGN
The Violet Rathas
The Violet Rathas, formerly known as the Violate Bastard Korath, is an associate of Second Revelation, acting as their spy and reconnaissance agent.
Korath was born a bastard child to Princess Sunnivah Evordeihn of the Kerebrihn royal family, and an unknown father. Unusually, they are one of the only recorded instances of a Scion-Blooded children born to a Scion-Blooded parent. Living in exile and kept secret from the rest of the royal family, Korath was raised by their mother's maids.
This secrecy was not enough to save them from the Violate King; as the city was gutted, Korath was fled by Nessa, one of their maids. They were caught, and Nessa killed by the Devastator General Kallax. Admiring the determination in Korath, they became the first of the Violate King's Bastards; children orphaned by war and pressed into service with the King.
While their childhood under the King is unknown, it is presumed they, like their adopted siblings, grew to worship the King as their father through abusive hardship. This worship persisted through his injury and defeat, as the King fled through unknown means south with the last of his warband and children.
Bleeding followers, the Violate King took refuge in the effigy of his attempted conquest; Maysuria. It was here, surrounded by his bastard children, that he was slain. Korath alone called out the killer, the Asva, to return the Longitude to them, but was pressed into silence by the red being.
After the King's death, Korath and their siblings spread all over Enaeth and South Arath; Some returned to Kerebrihn to play lord there, while most others formed bandit groups, eventually building their own renown and leading outlaw encampments.
Using their former training as a horserider and familiarity with passages through the terraformed world of Enaeth, Korath stole horses and recruited their own outlaw gang; The Outriders, beginning a terror campaign all throughout Enaeth. Recognizing the importance of survival, the Outriders never stayed long enough to build a reputation in one place, utilizing stealth and hit and run tactics. Korath watched with grim satisfaction as their methods avoided the capture and execution that their other, unwiser brothers experienced.
Korath's skill did not avoid the notice of the authorities however... and other, more sinister organisations. As their reputation grew, Korath was approached by Second Revelation in securing the 'Neck'; the snaking ravines leading into the Circiern Region. They were offered an enormous bounty to find and capture a group of mercenaries protecting a Merse woman dressed in green.
Korath begrudgingly allied with a bastard brother, Riaydrihn, and ran operations to blockade the region from his base, the Complex. It was during this blockade that Korath's ability to retreat and survive saved their life multiple times from the mercenary group that would later become Second Sunrise; they were captured by Ffamran in a failed assault at night, but escaped despite significant injuries; they later set an ambush in the Complex for Ffamran, Grippsly and Kovan in revenge, but was foiled by a slip of the tongue disguised as their ally Teleres. Chasing down Kovan and Rhoawn as they attempted to race north to Palisades, Korath's Outriders were all destroyed by an ambush conducted by Paedra's Merse cell, torn apart by Hesperia's Augury.
Despite their repeated failure and setbacks, Second Revelation found great value in their individual skill set, ability to recognize the importance of retreating from unwinnable circumstances, and sheer luck. They were offered and accepted a place within their ranks, and joined as the Rathas.
Now directly reporting to the Ruhk and Dama, the Rathas began a reconnaissance operation in Rhyne; following the Craftlords, members of TAERA and Second Sunrise, and even Regina herself.
While their actual objective success is unknown, it is believed their reports enabled the assassination of Bartolo, shone awareness of secret passages below the Red Palace known only to the Craftlords, lulls in security timetables, and enabling the theft of excavation equipment.
Collecting information at the annual Veiled Paradigm, the Rathas finally got a taste of revenge on Ffamran as he snuck into the same sitting room as themselves and the Dama, kneecapping him in retribution for their injuries at the Neck and for killing their pet the 'Dog Fucker'. Ffamran was able to escape before either the Dama or Ratha could react, throwing himself out of the nearby window.
Learning the identity of the woman who killed all their Outriders, the Rathas helped coordinate Hesperia's attempted kidnapping with the Faras and Ruhk, which was foiled when the Ruhk failed to appear, and members of Second Sunrise arrived to rescue her. In the ensuing battle, Rathas watched as the Faras was skillfully annihilated by Vaxis, and wisely fled.
The Rathas whereabouts are currently unknown. As an intangible assailant and spy, it is possible they are the only member of Second Revelation still active in Rhyne; even more likely they have decided to join the Padati in following the arbiters of their failure, Second Sunrise, deep into the west on a personal and unseen campaign of retribution and violence.

As a shapeshifter, the Rathas shares their pale skin, white hair and luminous eyed look in their natural form; they can however, appear identically to anyone they have touched in the past. Although all shapeshifters are genderless, Rathas typically presents and identifies as male.
The Rathas is a cruel being with a guttural voice, that delights in hunting and killing; only children are spared their violent delights, out of the remembered mercy they experienced and believing orphaning children makes them stronger and more capable. Unlike their siblings, Rathas prefers underhanded tactics, believing their father's lessons of 'Any victory is a victory' to gain the upperhand. Rathas is also incredibly cautious, and will flee at the first sign of trouble, not out of fear but a well tuned experience for staying alive. It has served them well thus far.
After their encounter with Ffamran at the neck, the Rathas developed a limp in their left leg; it is unknown if this lingering injury has healed.
Despite their relation to Kerebrihn, it is unknown whether the Rathas understands or acknowledges their royal bloodline, kidnapped as they were at such a young age. Rathas has never returned to Kerebrihn since leaving all those years ago.
The Rathas is a capable fighter, preferring to get up close to their enemies with poisoned knives and dishonorable tactics to win.
Since descending to heresy, the Rathas now has the ability to appear intangible from their environment; whether they disappear, or people simply 'forget' to perceive them, if not observed the Rathas could appear seemingly anywhere. It is presumed that this ability is local to a certain distance; When Grippsly briefly crippled and slowed the Rathas down, it reduced their quantum possibilities, allowing them to be spotted and become visible.
It is presumed the Rathas must concentrate on this ability, similar to the Ruhk's own trans-dimensional movements. Able to disguise themselves at will and disappear in a flash makes the Rathas one of the more dangerous members of Second Revelation; not from the threat they pose, but the secrets they uncover, or the allies they pose as, waiting for their moment to strike...
