The Cannae

Whatever the creature known as the Asva was before its descension is lost to myth and time. Only in Heas, a city itself rendered almost myth, retains stories of the monstrous Cannae; the devourer of siblings.

While the details of this myth story are vague, it seems the Asva has some relation to Heas, or the Ansuv themselves, and was a known cannibal that ate its sisters. Harbinger Bohq, sent on a quest to destroy this creature believes that it has haunted Heas for generations, dating back to the end of the Atheist Wars.

Whatever its origins, its clear its value was found by the Maat, and in turn the Cannae found value in the Maats goals and descended to become the Asva.

The Asva

Whatever role the Asva has played as servant to the Maat may remain forever unknown. What is known is at some point in 2375 it killed the Violate King and claimed the blade Longitude from his corpse.

The Asva then found and guided the Dama to the Descesion site, and swore and oath of fealty to her. The Asva has largely acted as her bodyguard during their frequent tours of the frontier, and as shock trooper and assassin when regular means are unavailable.

With the presumed death of the Dama, the Asva has aligned itself with the Ruhk, following the words left in her Chronicle.

The Mantri suspects there is little left of the Asva; its brain rotted by time experienced over and over again, its possible it lacks the ability to rationally think outside of its desired goal... whatever that may be.

Description

The Asva is a tall humanoid, covered in red cloth and white angular armor. It wears a unadorned diamond shaped white mask, which completely covers its face, baring no holes for eyes or its mouth.

It is completely silent, not even letting out cries of pain or breaths of exertion. Many who work with or have encountered the Asva suspect its not entirely a living thing. Despite this, it has intelligence, able to communicate with its hands, suggesting its silence is unintentional to some degree.

It is never seen without the fabled sword Longitude; the sword stolen from Kerebrihn and used exclusively by the Violate King.

Abilities

The Asva has the ability to chronologically reverse itself, moving backwards through time like flowing through water, returning to a previous, and often more advantageous position.

It is seemingly able to remember actions it undoes, as it uses this ability to catch opponents unaware. This also avoids fatal damage it would experience, such as when it was beheaded by Aingrim and seemingly came back to life, head reattached.

This also enables it to attack recklessly, throwing itself into groups of enemies knowing wounds taken will simply be undone, but wounds it deals will further impede and weaken its opponents.

This makes the Asva technically inexhaustible and immortal, the pinnacle hunter letting time erode the strength and will of its opponents.
