HERALDS CAMPAIGN
The Carnelian Faras
The Carnelian Faras, formerly known as Sinath Arathisah, was a human female, member of Second Revelation, and operational enforcer of the Presage Site, later slain by Harbinger Vaxis.
The Faras was born Sinath, the oldest child of three sisters to the prosperous Arathisah family in Torrens. Studying to become a Traumaturgist, Sinath's life was waylaid by her augur sisters engagement in gang activity. Suspecting their increase in wanton behaviour a link to Rampancy, Sinath joined this gang to protect and look after her sisters.
Despite the initial thrill of drug dealing, thievery and street brawls, Sinath became disillusioned with their life of crime as her sisters steadily increased in recklessness and violence. She secretly contacted her parents to help their children, who agreed to refuge the girls. In actuality, her parents contacted the Amansir for a monetary reward, as her sisters were now identified and wanted by the law. Sinath returned to their hideout, finding the Amansir had found her sisters first. Sinath wept over the mangled corpses of her sisters, cursing existence itself with the mantra she echoed so many nights to her sisters; 'It's better to wrong the world than to have it wrong me’.
Condemning her sisters bodies to the flood channels, she snaked her way through the walls of Torrens, grief and madness manifesting in a grand ritual for the god ZOLK. She began to lure or kidnap civilians, starting with her parents, to dissect and dismember them for this ritual; a grand canvas of the human body. Her knowledge as a Traumaturgist finally had a horrifying application, as Faras become fascinated by dissection of her victims, expertly studying and documenting her torn victims, often while still alive. She began to reconstitute them into her ritual; over 20 individuals were added to her bloody tapestry, a landscape of flesh later earning her the moniker 'Death Artist'.
Before her ritual could be completed, her hideout was discovered and she was captured and imprisoned by the Invokers. Her trial revealed her mad, unrepentant and eager to continue her work. Her sentence of execution never came to pass however; a lawyer willing to work on a pro-bono case for her had her sentence stalled while a ‘divinity assessment’ was conducted on her.
Imprisoned in her cell in Torrens Max Sec, she was visited one evening by the Ruhk, who appeared from nowhere within her cell. She listened, bemused and curious, as he offered her freedom in exchange for a map of the walls of Torrens. She agreed, and was taken to meet the Dama.
Sinath became enamoured with the Dama, and with little prompt, offered her services onto her. Despite the Ruhk's reservations, the Dama was impressed by her self-taught skill base and knowledge of both the human body and Rampancy. She became an understudy to the Dama, and within days, the lost girl who may have once become a member of the Merse for the love and care she showed her augur sisters, instead descended to heresy to become The Faras.
As the shortest lived member of Second Revelation, dying within two months of her descension, her work with the organisation however bore much success. She took over for the previous Faras at Presage; what goals she accomplished here may impact long after her death.
During this time she practiced Biotstry, and began performing graft's of Tya'lith flesh onto the Dama. Together they enhanced the most zealous members of Broken Mantra into the Biocurates; horrifying floating coffins of metal and flesh.
Able to travel significant distance with her powers, the Faras begun running operations for both the Dama and Ruhk, overseeing both the Fallen Litany and helping the Ruhk track Elimarah and her mercenaries.
Learning about the nature of one of the mercenaries, Mhoram and his ability to madly predict the future based on his 'Pattern', the Faras herself attempted to acquire him. She was thwarted by another of these mercenaries; Vaxis. In their first confrontation, the Faras suffered extensive burns to most of her face and right arm, and was forced to flee back to the Fallen Litany.
Now aware Elimarah's mercenaries were baring down on their location, the Faras rapidly ordered their operations at the Fallen Litany packed up. Ever the opportunist, she was successful in her kidnapping of Mhoram, and imprisoned him in at the Fallen Litany for later transport to Presage.
In the chaos that followed, Mhoram escaped, Elimarah was rescued, and in turn, cut the Faras' throat. After days of recovery, the Faras joined Second Revelation in their attempt to kill this mercenary group. She was thwarted a second time by Vaxis, and in the panic of a burning warehouse, fled again.
Despite the death of Mhoram, the Faras had became enamored with unique augurs and Rampants. Information given to her by the Ruhk and collected during their stay in Rhyne pointed to the strange associate of Second Sunrise, Hesperia, sharing similar traits to previous experiments at Presage.
Joining a local cultivar supplier in Rhyne, the Faras struck a business relationship with Hesperia under the guise of Medulla; a rough woman turning a new leaf. Her attempted acquisition of Hesperia during the Battle for Rhyne failed when the Ruhk missed their meeting time, and she was discovered by Vaxis. Engaging in battle with him for a third time as she attempted to liberate Hesperia, the Faras was defeated and killed by him, ending the madness of the Death Artist forever.
As the Death Artist, the Faras face was widely spread throughout Torrens on bulletins, depicting a tanned girl with matted brown hair and wide orange eyes. While delighting in inflicting pain and mayhem on others, the Faras nonetheless had a respect for Augurs and kindness for Rampants, believing the gods had given them an unintended weapon to use against them. Her obsession with the powers of rampants eventually leading to her downfall.
Upon joining Second Revelation, the Faras elected to shave her hair and paint her face white. After suffering extensive burns, the Faras was bandaged, and then wore an orange and black fire-retardant suit to help with her recovery and fear of fire.
As Medulla, the Faras allowed her hair to grow to a stubble, and told others the mess of her face was the result of a 'bar fight' gone wrong. Hesperia described her face as though someone had 'dragged her face through glass'.

The Faras seemingly can control points of gravity, both as an attractor and repellent. She seems practiced enough in their materialization as to use these points to fly, or deflect arrows. It is unknown how large these points can become, and what risk they pose to her in creating them.
While she is able to destroy buildings, and even able to reflect attacks from every angle, overwhelming attacks may be able to overcome her reactions and get past her guard, as discovered by Vaxis during their encounter in the Complex, where the Faras became badly burnt by the Ratflusher.
