Deep below the foot of Mt. Trinitus, in caves of enormous naturally formed pyrite slabs, dwell a coven of seers and Sibyls, collectively known as the Oracles. This cult of hermit women predict and perceive the fortunes of those that would travel to behold their future.

Young girls are picked for their ability to distinguish patterns, recall historic events, and predict possibilities in the future to serve or become Sibyls. Families from many tribes, and even among the Rhyern, offer their children to join the Oracles and learn the ways of prediction, the highest of honours in many societies.

Only some become Sibyls, who comb confusing patterns and glyphs into large frames of sand, seeing the flow of each grain as a person, flowing through their own future in a way only they make sense of. These Sibyls do not see the future, but are so analytical in their predictions as to be prophetic.

Most join as 'Custodians', the caretakers and guardians of the Oracles. They provide both a fearsome protective presence and care for the Oracles; who often forget to eat and sleep, so deeply are they lost in their musings of the potential future.

While the cults origins are unknown, records exist of pilgrims seeking their guidance since at least the beginning of the Declension, suggesting their cult is far older than the Second Cycle. With several sections of the caves barred from outsiders, rumors have long persisted the Oracles are a front, protecting caches or locations of Theseht technology that threaten themselves, or the world.

While none within the coven ever truly see the future, every generation one from among them is selected by the gods to experience true prophetic vision. The Herald Presceae, eyes hidden behind a mask of gold, asks pilgrims for a Covenant, in exchange for an oracle of their future. These oracles, though vague and esoteric, are considered highly by many.
