Little is known of Ankern's life before he became a cult leader. The story often told by his cult, the 'Transconceptionists' is that Ankern fell into a well as a child which led directly to the Transmundane; the world of dreams. It was there, under the careful tutilage of the god MOTS, Ankern learnt how to manifest his dreams into reality. Ascending upon his return to reality, Ankern co-opted the existing Transmundanist movement of the Planae into a cult dedicated to Ankern and his teachings. He demonstrated that with complete and utter faith in Ankern, wonderous things could happen.

This once modest cult traveled throughout the Planae, setting up camps and upsetting towns and cities with their presence. They became vagrants, often taking what they wanted, getting into fights with non believers, and otherwise disturbing the peace. When idols of Ankern were distributed throughout one such village, the Theovocates were outraged; who dared promote worship of themselves over the gods?

An arrest warrant was filed, and the manhunt began for Ankern. His capture proved almost impossible; his followers would believe he was a fish, and he swam away from Invokers; or that he could fly, or disappear entirely.

The Theovocates then pivoted; arrest his followers. Slowly, members of the Transconceptionists were rounded up and jailed. Without his followers, Ankern begged the Theovocates to release his flock. With the approach of war, TAERA'n executor Herald Regina made him an offer he couldn't refuse; help destroy the Violate King, and your followers would be released.

Uninterested in the alliance or what it means for Enaeth if they fail, Ankern recognizes only one thing; the dangers of an opposing cult, and their leader in the Violate King.
